Our Beginnings
Our founder was Dr. Robert J. Amory, who was called to pastor Indian Creek Congregation Christian Church in 1960. In January 1963, Indian Creek members voted to be an to be an Independent Baptist Church. Welcome was started in Norfolk in January 1970, as a mission of Indian Creek. Then we moved Welcome Baptist Mission to Kempsville Road in September 1975, when Victory Baptist voted to merge with Indian Creek, therefore we have two locations with services.

Correspondance Bible School- The correspondence Bible school ministry was started in 1968. There are FREE Bible lessons for all ages. We have the Source of Light Mailbox Club lessons for children and adults, also the Doctrines of Salvation series, which has 7 lessons. Upon completion, a certificate is isssued with each set of lessons.
There have been souls saved as a result of taking the lessons, thank the Lord! Christians have been drawn closer to the Lord. "To God be the glory"
